KOTESOL in Seoul

Last weekend I went to Seoul to the national KOTESOL Conference to see Dr. Sandra McKay speak and go over my paper with Mike and Jon.She was great, and gave me many great ideas for my own dissertation. The rest of the conference was interesting as well. To be honest, I have been a little (a lot) underwhelmed with KOTESOL as a professional organization, but this conference was great. It was also great to be in that professional environment.

Afterwards we went out to Sinsa for a quick dinner and drink in a part of Seoul I have never been to before but would like to visit again, time permitting. It is near Gangnam and, thanks to Psy, Gangnam is now a quasi tourist area (with costs to match) and so the night got pricey quickly, but since no one was out late it was hardly extortionate.

Anyway, a bit of a working weekend but enjoyable.
